NFL Week 13 Odds: An NFL holiday feast
November 26, 2013
The dogs had their day in Week 12 of the regular season with seven of the 14 teams getting points winning straight-up to go along with two other underdogs covering against the spread. For the second week in a row the results on the total line were evenly split with seven games going OVER and seven staying UNDER.
Here is an early look at the Sports Interaction lines for some of the matchups on Week 13’s schedule in the NFL.
There are three games on Thursday this week on the traditional Thanksgiving Day holiday. In a late afternoon start, the 6-5 Dallas Cowboys welcome the 4-7 Oakland Raiders to Big D in hopes of getting a victory that will give them a turkey leg up on Philadelphia in a tight NFC East race. The Cowboys have been opened as 9.5-point favorites with the total set at 45.5.
The New England Patriots have established themselves as the new team to beat in the AFC after this past Sunday night’s 34-31 overtime victory against Denver as 2.5-point home underdogs. The 8-3 Patriots will now go on the road this Sunday to square off against the woeful Houston Texans, who have not won a game since mid-September. New England has been opened as a 9.5-point favorite with the total set at 47.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have only won two games this season, but they have a legitimate shot at adding to that total this Sunday against a Cleveland Browns team that has lost five of its last six games including a 27-11 loss to Pittsburgh this past Sunday as a 1-point home favorite. The Browns have been opened as 7-point home favorites against the Jaguars with the total set at 40.
Cincinnati still controls its own destiny in the AFC North title race with a two-game lead over both Pittsburgh and Baltimore but it is hard to give this team a vote of confidence after losing two of its last three games. This Sunday, the 7-4 Bengals head on the road to face the San Diego Chargers, who still have serious playoff aspirations of their own at 5-6 on the year. The Chargers have been opened as 1-point favorites for this AFC clash and the total has been set at 48.5.
